Annual ERC-PAC Fundraiser Oct. 5

Rich Shetler, chairman of the Eastside Republican Club political action committee, has announced Michigan State Representative Pamela Hornberger as speaker for the P.A.C.’s annual fundraiser set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. 

Hornberger will address education and the role of parents and taxpayers in their local school districts. She is the GOP candidate for Michigan State Senate District 12, the newly drawn district which includes the Pointe’s and runs north along Lake St. Clair to Harsens Island.

Hornberger is Michigan House speaker pro tem for the 2021-22 session and serves as chair of the House Education Policy committee. Representative Hornberger also serves on the House Appropriations Committee, sub-committee on School Aid and Department of Education, and the Legislative Council.

Prior to joining the legislature, Pamela taught for 23 years in St. Clair County’s East China School District. In 2010, she was elected and served six years on the L'Anse Creuse Public Schools Board of Education.

Formally known as the Thomas R. McCleary Jr. Eastside Republican Club Political Action Committee, the P.A.C. is named in memory of one of the ERC’s original members, Tom McCleary, who also served as a P.A.C. director. The P.A.C. operates independently from the Eastside Republican Club. 

Representative Hornberger earned a master’s degree in education administration from Saginaw Valley State University. Her teaching certification is from Wayne State University and her Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University.
